If you couldent stand the game, then I dont suggest you go see the movie. Homelanfed has an interview with Dave Callaham, the writer of the upcoming "Doom" movie.
Quote:
Believe it or not, the Doom movie is Callaham’s first produced movie script and he landed the high profile assignment when he was just 24 years old (he is 26 now). When asked if he is a gamer, he replied in the affirmative although he admits, “I am more of a sports gamer traditionally.” However, he has also played his fair share of first person shooters, including Wolfenstein 3D, Duke Nukem 3D, Halo and of course the Doom games. Callaham remembers first playing Doom in his teens, “I was really discombobulated,” he said of the experience, “I remember that it scared me senseless.”
Well then atleast we have a gamer with a decent backgraound developing the script... Not like someone who has never played the Resident Evil titles and then going out and making RE, and RE:A..... Oh well they were still good movies.

lol, i didnt enjoy the movie so im debating whether or not to maybe invested my $8 to see it. At least there having someone how games and has an idea of Doom. The director or writer of RE should of been fired on the spot....made no sense, i was totally lost in whats going on (since ive played all of the RE series). I havent seen RE:A yet....havent had time but i heard Nemesis is in it Very Happy

not to burst your bubble nem, but RE:A is a good movie, but they made it into a "immortal Kombat" type of thing trying to find out which program (explaned in the movie) is better.

i wont spill everything, but be prepaired for a small dissapointment (it diddnt follow any of the games either btw)

Next time before you write a post about clearly something you don't know anything about make sure you get your facts straight.. If you have ever seen an interview with Paul W.S. Anderson (the director of RE) you would have known he is also a vivid gamer, and a big fan of the RE games.

Also being a gamer and writing a good movie are 2 completely different things. Writing a movie everybody would love in a specific gerne is very difficult, especially when it concerns a 'universe' a lot of people know.
Writing a movie based on a videogame is even more difficult.
What I've heard about the Doom movie doesn't make me very happy but I'll see it when it arrives..
RE isn't the best movie ever, but it certainly isn't the worst, it was very entertaining, and ofcourse some things could've done better. 'Mortal kombat' wasn't good at all IMHO, but his other movie 'event horizon' is one of the best horror/scifi I've ever seen.. You also have to keep in mind that these days the director doesn't have everything to say, budgets and ratings are also things they sadly have to keep in mind...
Even high profile directors make crap movies, look at steven spielberg, he hasn't made a good movie in a long time...

well imho he shoulda paid more attention to them then.

no disrespect to him (or to you) but i read somewhere that he diddnt play them much (and thats how i infered that he diddnt know much about them) i guess i was wrong, or i mighta gotten the names mixed up.

again i'm sorry
