i mean.. i wanna shoot me.
make it like when you fall in some sort of booby trap. you fall into a big room with scary titans, and get a nice OWNED mesage on the screen.
or when you press a button you unleash um from above, and the come to kill you all.!!

flags and lighting and etc work. i dont know how to add music/sounds yet so it doesnt have those. i wanna have a trap set up in that lower hainging platform that is switch operated and thats where the spider mines will be as bait (those would be an extremely helpful/devistating defence on this map, therefore i wanna make them hard to get )

No botpaths yet, but this is the layout that i want, except for 2 minor details that i havent found the right mesh for yet. and some rubble/barriers in the top balcony (dunno what i wanna do up there yet but i know it needs to be done)


Rachel, if you read this could you suggest some optimization spots to me.

and how to do them Wink i think this map will be a bit intense for older cards, but my radeon 9800 pro is giving me 87 fps everywhere except along the rock walls. which i dont think i will be able to do anything about that...

seems ok, what were you going for raven? gameplay or eye-candy? i kno this is just the beta, but thought id share my opinion on it.

Stairs....large stair case from flag area, it will make it incredibly hard for flag carriers to run back up seeing how its the only way. unless u take the laterns on the side (im thinking u intentionally put that there as an alternative route???)

Middle will be massive choke point, unless players move through the small pathways through the middle or brave enough to trans over.

Need to use different textures other than same one.

Need to fix lava bug, once you fall in....you fall forever until u A.) Hit the ground or B.) explode into body parts.

Also, massive outer area....(suggestion - how about two alternative areas on the pieces of rocks?) i.e. flag is taken, player has choice from going back up stairs or trechorous lanterns or "island hopping" around the middle structure....sound good?

Other than those it looks pretty cool, im runnin it on my mobility 9700 so i didnt notice any performance drop Sad . Like i said before i kno its beta so these are just my opinions/suggestions on what u can improve or not.

texture is a problem yes, but this is supposto be hewn from rock so i used a rock texture. i'll be using a different texture on some parts of the stairs

I really dont see how the middle will be a choke point, because of the trans/island hopping. personally i either always hop/trans the way through maps anyways so i never even noticed that. any suggestions for that? (btw the lanterns werent meant for that, but it is a good idea, i'll make em all a bit bigger so its a little easier Smile )

lava bug... i have the damage volume set to 300/sec so i know you'll die before you hit the ground, you just have to click and respawn faster. and i will be adding a fog color for the lava (red of course) i just havent done it yet

actually you can "island hop" as-is, you just have to aim well Wink

the massive outer area suggestion you have.... about the two paths on the rocks... what do you mean? i cant understand...

choke point for flag carrier in the middle, if he choose to go that way...

ya, i also trans/hop around map myself....but u have to take in consideration for flag carrier since he cannot trans....hes resorted to hopping. you cannot make a jump from the flag area onto any of the rocks. u can also increase the width in-between the rock structure that is surrounding the flag so u can jump from one platform to another....some of the islands are buggy also, but its getting onto the first one that proves to be difficult.

the path im trying to describe you already have.....the islands surrounding the middle point....i think u just need some more work on those to make them a much more fluid path (if chosen to)

just opinions, i kno how map makers get really frustrated with some feedback.

imho any opinions i will take to heart, but if i dont understand them/cant make them work/dont like the way they turn out i wont do them.

i think i know what you mean about the islands now, and i'll see what i can do about them.

awesome, o ya....you should post your map on Atari forums....seeing how they get large numbers of people on there for more feedback.
