Ahh I forgot one more thing before I sign off till tomorrow. Voodoo Extreme has some interesting comments on PU's announcement about the CPL not using UT2004. I don't know about you but I think this one is definitely a blow to the community and we will have to see how much this does affect things in the UU with games like Half-Life 2 and Halo 2 coming out. Interesting times indeed.. |

*eh* why would they want to wait for a 'new' UT2kx ?
There's UT2k4 and not even a mere rumour that there really will be a UT2k6.
All we've got is the reason for the naming-scheme and Epic's word that there will be significant changes before a new UT is considered ...
I think the real reason is easier : money.
Epic & most certainly Atari didn't want to waste money. Especially is said tournament that has flip-flopped before (didn't they change from ONS to TDM in the last minute ?). |

it all comes down to money.
Epic didnt want to put up any money for the CPL. So they chose Painkiller which is dead....sure its going to have a boost for competition then they will move on since the tourney is gone....then its dead AGAIN....waste of a million $$$. |
