I have rounded up a couple of Unreal Championship 2: The Liandri Conflict previews (thanx Gengamers ) and one video released this week. One of these previews actually has new information about Epic/Midway's upcoming Xbox shooter. Both previews contain screenshots of UC2.

The first preview I will cover was conducted by Xequted. It covers much the same information we have all heard (3rd person view, melee combat, unique characters, ect.) but it also releases some new information. A new edition to UC2 is that players can reflect shots. They gave an example of a UC2 Pong match between players using Rocket Launchers. Xequted also gave away some of the UC 2 map names.

Call me a cheese ball but the coolest news out of this preview is that Epic will be adding a Mortal Kombat character to UC2.

(Speaking of which, there’s also a Mortal Kombat character that’s going to feature in UC2, but we’d be taken out and fragged if we told you who it is…)

I am hoping for Subzero because he owns. Maybe UC2 will give me the Mortal Kombat fighting game I have been looking for since MK2.

The second preview covered was by gameradar. This preview is more attune to how they felt about the game and their play experience with UC 2. I didn’t find anything new there but it is worth reading if you like hands-on impressions.

Finally, Gamespot updated their site with a new UC 2 video. They sit down with Mike Capps President of Epic and go over UC2’s ranged weapons. While this video was just released it is of an old build of UC2. It is dated 8/04 so I am sure the game has progressed quite a bit since then. Notable points include; the Bio Rifle's goo chases characters like Spider Mines, you can charge up the Ripjack, and you can now freeze Shock Rifle secondary fire balls. Next week Gamespot will release a video covering melee combat in UC 2.

Everything I have read or watched suggests UC2 will be a top knotch title for the Xbox. I know I am very interested in playing it. I am glad Epic decided to focus on seperate games for seperate systems instead of feeding console and PC gamers virtually the same product like UT2003/UC.
