Halo 2

Microsoft has released their numbers for Halo 2, now putting first-day numbers at a whopping $125 million, or 2.4 million copies sold in a single day. According to game retailer GameStop, they sold more copies of Halo 2 on launch day, than any other game's launch in history. Sounds like Microsoft got their moneys worth this time! I have yet to get my copy (dont have time to drive an hour and a half for my reserved copy yet) so I guess I'll have to rely on you guys. How was it? Hows the storyline, any suprises, hows the energy sword? and most importantly, Hows the online MP?

On another note, Homelanfed has a review of Halo 2 for those of you who havent gotten it yet...

Its been a 2 day halo fest. I definatly think that it lives up to its predecessor. The new additions are great. I especially enjoy the duel wield option. Nothing like running in with a plasma rifle and an SMG. The new weapos are nice, the Battle Rifle is what i find myself usign the most unless its just down and dirty combat where i use the SMG Plasma rifle combo. The sword is great to use for close combat as well. i mostly used that at a certain par tin the game. (i wont runin it but you should understand once you play). The ai is tweaked nicely your friendly AI is actualyl usefull and they dont die so quick. I also like being able to count on the team AI to drive and help man the 2+ person vehicles. The Enemy AI is still ungodly difficult on the harder settings. i am playing through on Heroic for my 1st time through. Figured the harder difficulty would help in the long run with LIVE
The MP is great, its alot of fun playing halo with 16 players. Im such a fan of UT CTF that i am not that big of a fan of the Halo CTF. U run way to slow with the flag and cant defend urself. I guess there trying to bring in the Team work aspect but if ur running so slow u should be able to defen your self. Team Slayer is alot of fun. The maps are immpressive, still having a hard time getting my barrings. Im glad they brought back some tweaked classic halo maps. Maybe i should break down and get the strat guide for the map lay outs. any way if u have a BOX and u havnt gotten this game yet theres something wrong with you (*wink raven*)

TechTV interviewed a couple guys that actually made the Halo armor(even a few non-functional weapons)

At least it they made a big show with dozens of Xboxes running the game and on-stage games as well.

Then again ... perhaps they hired those guys to build the 'official Master Chief armour' for this promotion as well ?

every year there is a HCC and GameExpo here in the netherlands, like a E3 but smaller.. Rolling Eyes

i went there, and there was a living Halo 2 dude, you could take pictured with him. he looked much more real.
i kicked him in the nuts tho.. Twisted Evil
