Unreal Championship's Secret Character Is..

I ran across a cool thread at the Atari Forums a little while ago and for some reason it was deleted this past week. Fortunately I am not completely senile yet and I remember what is was. As most of you know that with Epic teaming up with Midway had some nice possibilities. Well it seems as though they will be coming to fruition early next year. Unreal Championship 2 is going to feature Raiden from Mortal Kombat.

This is definitely an interesting twist and may be enough for me to have to take a closer look at this game when it comes out. Also the recently appointed Epic PR guru Mike Capps was quoted as saying that Ed Boon had some input on the MK characters in the game. The twists and turns continue for UC2. I have a feeling these twists and turns are a good thing. It is kind of strange not seen Mark Rein around anymore though.

UC2 : the ultimate beat'em up ??
That's what I'm starting to think the more I read about this game.

I mean ... get rid of the ranged weapons and you've got (potentially) something that could be a revolution in this rather stale genre.
Not just simple square '3d' arena's, but 'Unreal'(tm) environments to kill your enemies.

God ... I really hope it is as much fun to play as it sounds and that they really will have a melee-only option for the game.

I really hope this doesnt translate over to future UT games. I was never much of a fan of the melee fighting games.

.... me either... but when u pretty much mastered the ranged weapons category u have to go to the last thing possible... close combat, or no combat at all... and the second would be kinda boring...
