I hope everyone is safe, snug and sound out there. I just got back from visiting my parents who live in Northern Michigan. The weather was worse than the Lion's offense today. Which brings me to my biggest gripe as of late, idiots who drive trucks and SUVs. I mean just because you have a 4x4 doesn't mean it automatically makes you invincible in the snow. I had this guy almost run me off the rode because of this thinking. So please be careful driving this winter and watch out! Let's get into the odds-n-ends articles for today.

Looks like Kazaa's parent company is in for a world of hurt. MSN is reporting that the Aussie government's case against them isn't going good. This is one we will watch closely as it may affect P2P's future. I will say this though, mainstream p2p is definitely not what it used to be. I mean all it is good for nowawadys is porn and even that is not too good. I would like to see a system setup where people can share non-copyrighted music, porn and games without having to fear the RIAA and MPAA. I still like the idea and hope to see this someday.

The Internet getting a speed boost soon? Well according to Wired News there may be a new speed surge in the near future. 100 times faster than the current Net? Unlikely in my opinion, but anything that improves the Net is ok with me. On to the news..

I don't have anything to add about filesharing, but I am (unfortunately) familiar with driving through Detroit on I-75 during the holiday rush. I'm of the opinion that Fear Factor should have participants take a casual drive through that stretch of highway during a holiday rush hour. OMG. The best part of the whole drive is seeing the tire marks going vertical along the 10' concrete medians, and realizing that it could be you doing that with all the idiots feeding speed to their rides. Shocked

my ISP used to improve the speed every 6 monts or so, its now 4 times the speed it was when i bought it 2 years ago, but they havnt upgraded it for a llong time now:( i hope to get someting faster Razz
