There is a game magazine in Sweden called "Game Reactor". In (August) "9, they write that (I appologize for any faults in the translation since it is originaly written in Swedish) "Half Life 2 that was said to be finished in september have been affected by a delay. Mean tongues (I guess they mean the testteam thing is a rumour) say that the testteam didnīt think that the almost finished game had the same quality as itīs predecessor in terms of gameplay. Valve themself claims that it has to do with various graphic problems when some of the games visual details doesnīt apply very well with a certain type of graphic accelerators. The publisher, Vivendi/ Universal, say that the game however is going to be released before the end of the year."I donīt understand how they can print this if they havnīt been in contact with the companies and I donīt understand why the companies wouldnīt have made an official announcement about it if they told the magazine these things. It doesnīt look as if Half Life 2 is going to be released in time since all things seams to point towards a delay. The games never seam to be released in time but I guess we can only speculate in the delay of Half Life 2 until an official announcement have been made. We all want it as soon as possible but I hope they give it more time if needed.

well there was a big hoo hah about this last month vivendi (the owner of valve) reported that hl2 would be delayed untill chirstmas but gabe newell said he hadnt heard this and that valve were still working towards the september 30th release date..... an email later and vivendi were saying the same thing.... clouded the future of this game is....

tbh it looks ready to go ....... and it simply wouldnt make valve happy to release it on any other day than september 30th 5 years after the black mesa incident . THE VALVE FLAIR WILL PREVAIL Smile

The only thing on my mind is UT2004 at the moment. I wont be crying over this delay. Kinda crappy for the people who are anticipating this game. But hey, better a good game late then a "bad" game early.

I believe the video card issues have been sorted out, so they shouldn't affect the release date in themselves.
