first you have to download mIRC from this website www.mirc.com/get.html
then all you do is click on this link
irc://irc.progameplayer.com/unrealops
that's all there is to it 
you will then be transported to a magical place where people meet in a giant chat room, and entetain themselvs for hours on end talking about nothing and something at the same time.
anyways there is one thing you kneed to know. after you click on that link, you will have to click yes, then wait a minute or two, for you to connect to the IRC server, then another window will pop up and that will be the IRC Channel that tycho is talking about
one last thing, you will have to put this command in to change your name from guest1234, to whatever you want. that command is: /nick (your prefered username) DO NOT PUT THE () in i used it to illustrate where you put your name
