Greetings from the new place and new ISP!  I will try and get a picture of the lake and crib later this week.  While I may have a slower download speed (from 1.5/256 to 768/128), I have a kick ass ping to the hub (8ms!).  I have to say that Charter Communications is very impressive so far with the speeds and customer service.  Who'da thunk you could get this good a service in the middle of the counrty Razz.Okay enough babbling let's get to the juicy stuff.  As most of you may remember I promise UT2004 for two weeks.  Well since things are going so good I am going to extend it one more week!  This week I dug through my notes and pictures from the Epic trip.  I found this kick butt screenie of not only Xan's new flame Enigma but the new UWindows as well.As you can see it looks COMPLETELY different than that of '03.  I know some of you insist that only '99's UWindows will do.  I disagree as the new menus are cleany, easy to use and have a little better color scheme.

I notice the picture is all blued out.
Do you remember the actual colors?

Tycho,

Does the announcer still call out the names of the players like in UT2003 ? I hope so because that was really and is really cool.

lol, Uwindows is the little dropdown thingys that are in UT and Unreal, on the startup menus, like when you go up to File and click, that little thingy that drops down is a window, when it's in UT it's a UWindow

UWindows is the collection of routines & objects that allowed UT'99 to look like a regular Windows-application.
ie : (resizeable & moveable) dialog-windows, a menu-bar at the top of the screen, etc.

The only thing that's really 'missing' in UT'03 (as far as Users are concerned) is the fact that we can't move & resize the windows/dialogs that are created by the interface.

So what are those people complaining about ?
IMHO They're only complaining about the fact that UT'03 suddenly looks like a regular arcade-game with (perhaps) somewhat 'big' letters compared to what pc-gamers are used to seeing.

// ---
In the info posted about the version at the ECTS in Europe they mentioned an option to change a character's voice.
This is not visible in the screenshot that's posted on this site.

Does this mean that this has been added after your visit to Epic ?
Considering they renamed the community/mods-item compared to the original screenshot of the main-menu that was on this site I think it has ...

However considering that it's one of the (IMHO) most important changes in the GUI I'd like to see more info on that bit of the (new) GUI.

I realy like the layout and charicter art........I dont like the color or edges of every thing looks/hope its in a beta skin/place holder....and it will get animations and a more high teck feel....

But it great........hope you don't have to cycle through the players. Crying or Very sad

Cool Wink Go to CH405's thread and Vogul is asking your thougts on the menu.... http://www.ina-community.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&postid=4203473#post4203473

congrats on the move in Wink

eahn. It's a tad bland right now. I'm assuming these are placeholders too. I'm not big on bright blue in interface design. Perhaps it sould look more like the Unreal Ops forum interface Wink (not necesarily the simple buttons, but the border and subtle background texture).

I've seen too many interfaces weighed down with intense 3D crapola. Save the 3D for the game and keep the design simple. That said, the blueness is a bit too simple.

I dunno. I'm sure it will be fine when it arrives and it can't arrive any sooner. I want my UT 2004! Laughing

Sup Sioux!

If I remember right they are still playing on adding custom voices including possibly some new ones.

To the other guests,

Dan Vogel of Epic started a thread on the INA forums for suggestions. Sioux what thread was it?
