no unfortunately they do not need mental help, or emotional help (although some of the guys at Epic could use some help in both, from what Tycho has been telling us )what they are looking for is a production assistant:
Duties include just about any sort of drudgery needed to support game development at both companies. Candidates must have access to reliable transportation to and from work, and for errands during work hours.
Typical tasks will include:
Moving Furniture around the office (involves some lifting) Picking up purchased supplies Mail delivery Restocking office supplies (e.g. putting paper in the printer) Some liaison with external vendors Making coffee, cleaning kitchen, running dishwasher, etc. Support for production staff (burning CDs, helping to set-up computers, mounting dry-erase boards, etc., etc.) Miscellaneous office tasks (sending faxes, making photocopies, filing) Some occasional playtesting (though this will be rare)
This position is for 4 hours a day, Monday to Friday, totaling 20 hours a week. We prefer a regular schedule, though that can be flexible between 1000 and 1900 during the day. We can also be flexible in scheduling around special events (exams, etc.). This position is likely ideal for a senior high-school or university student. This position may occasionally involve odd or long hours during final phases of game production.
This position is NOT an entry-level position in the sense that it will lead to a career in the game industry. There is no upward promotion path for this position. The position will provide an excellent exposure to game development and how games are made, and might be a good choice for people considering a career in the game industry. We strongly prefer people with an interest in games and the games industry.
We’re looking for the few and the not-so-proud. If you think you have what it takes, contact us immediately. Please email your resume and a short description of why you’re the ideal candidate for this position. Make sure to include ‘Production Assistant’ in the subject header of the email. If interested sign up here! |

Well, if you get hired be sure to spike the coffee everyday, just to see what kind of games they come up with. |
