Well the first ever Unreal Ops Hardware Review Video is finished. This an idea I have had in the works for a while now but never really had the time to implement it. The video is a 'test review' so to speak. Meaning that if it goes over well I may do all of our hardware reviews in the video format. Now since this is my first attempt at it I am going to let you know that it isn't perfect but I think it turned out ok. I had a couple of readers watch it and give feedback and almost all of it was positive. So I am going to leave it up to you guys to let me know if it the idea sucks or if we should do it again.
So if you wanted to see a Unreal Fan put both ATI and NVidia's products to the test head on over. Once you are done please drop by the forums with your feedback! |

Heya!
Nice thingy here Tycho.
I also own a ATIRadeon 9700 PRO but haven't overclocked it at all. Im wondering what program I need and how much I can clock without any need of better air conditioning.
Thanks |

Castrate,
I will do a follow up on the video soon where I will get into more details for everyone.
Guest,
I should have my 'Tweaking Your ATI Card' article up sometime this week. I am shooting for Friday.

However, I'm on a Mac and apparently even MPlayer doesn't support WMV9... Any chance of seeing mpg, avi, divx, or basically any other format eventually?
TIA,

I really really hope that your tweaking for ati article is worth the wait, cause my 9700pro is NOT performing up to the standards that it should be (from what i gather)
Great review Tycho, very well done, even with a few little slipups, but nodoby is perfect, so keep it up
I really cant wait for your tweaking article. |

Tycho,
Very nice review, i never saw a video review before and i must say it was very fun to watch. This kind of thing is waaay better then reading page after page. Although we didnt get to see any hard numbers about the tests you did it was still a great review. Looking forward to the next one
PS, maybe next time you could tell a bit more about the tests you ran, or did you only do the CTF-Magma test ? |

That was pretty cool. Perhaps next time angle the camera down a bit and zoom in so we can see the pretty heat sinks a bit better. Oh and you don't have to apologize so much, lol. It's all good.
Also, making the file available as a zip would be nice for those of us still on dial-up crap.
Keep up the awesome work.
Later sir,
Kharn |

If that's the worst comment on the video review, I'd say it went well |

Heavy boots,
I will see what I can do about getting a different copy of it. I was testing out the video capture features on the card and only had Windows Media Encoder available. The next one I will make it in other formats as well.
Guest 2,
LOL. I agree with you on the Green. However it is my lil sis's house that I filmed that in. The next one will be at the my new place!
Karhn,
So far so good on the feedback! |

A post from the guest who commented on the color of the walls.
The review was pretty good . I'm a diehard nvidia fan who now is strongly considering buying an Ati 9600 pro video card. The review showed that theirs a changing of the guard and that Ati is the best card card available.I love your site and check it out daily. |

Guest,
Thanks for the feedback and it looks like I will be doing other video reviews in the future and with different formats.
