Most of you here have probably at least seen screenshots of XIII, the new cel-shaded FPS that's running off of the Unreal Engine. I'm 99% sure that it's the only cel-shaded FPS in existence right now, but anyway, IGN did a preview of it. Here's a snip:XIII is already going to make its mark as a stunningly stylistic first person shooter on PC, Xbox, PS2 and GameCube with its cel-shaded graphics and comic book themes. But there will be online play for the Xbox, PS2 and PC versions and that got us to thinking: what about the multiplayer elements of XIII? How does the cel-shaded look translate to fast-paced fragging action? Since we've covered just about every other angle of Ubi Soft's next big FPS franchise, there's no sense in letting the splitscreen, local network and online elements of the game slip by.I've played the demo myself, and I have to say that I think it is a pretty decent game. It's more funny than hardcore killin', but hey, that's just one d00d's opinion. |
