Expected sometime around February 2004, the Xbox version of Legend Entertainment’s Unreal II: The Awakening will include a modified version XMP — the free multiplayer add-on just recently released for owners of Unreal II for PC.
1up.com have the low-down:
Atari isn't satisfied with simply giving Xbox users a port of the single-player original, however. In addition to a split-screen co-op mode for the story campaign (offline only, unfortunately), the Xbox Unreal II supports online XMP matches via Xbox Live, a feature just recently added to the PC version. Short for Expanded Multiplayer, XMP is a team-based game that borrows elements from Capture the Flag, Domination, and a host of other online matches. Like CTF, whichever side gets the "flag" (in this case, four special artifacts) wins the game, but it's much more complicated than that . . .
