Hello hunks and babes, I was just scouting out Raven's mod list and I noticed there are very many mods that focus on anime. I'm a big anime fan myself and for those who don't know then anime is a word over japaneese cartoons (most are not like Pokímon and Dragonball Z so don't pass judgement right away). I checked them out and noticed that many have a very few list of people doing some work and it makes me sad thinking about so many motivated mod developers working on something that will die out and all the work for nothing. I strongly encourage all Anime style mods to try to unite, you don't have to be doing a mod about the same series because you can always compromise and find something you like. So this is a cry out for all of those mod developers not to do everything the same and end up with a mod just like some other mod and it ends up no one will play both. I know it's good to have a tight group that does much but one of the developers of Tactical Ops (one of the biggest mod for UT and was so big it went retail) said once that it's best to have a very small but tight group of people working hard and a bigger group of other people not so tight. I also strongly recommend mods to push static meshes to the limit. I'm noticing many models that are unneccesary low poly when you can even double it. I knew a mod that died out after a while ago that they had models on the average of 5000-6000 polys and it worked just the same as normal on avarage PCs. Sorry that I don't have any interviews for you today but I'm trying not to have a interview like a weekly thing. |
